Rings is a song I wrote a few years ago. It was a reflection on my personal career and the careers of those around me in Philadelphia. Being the best in a place where nobody supports anybody keeps everyone losing. Philly has always been a market full of talent, but most of it couldn’t win because of competition from people we shouldn’t be competing against. That lack of support has kept the city from being a great place for the music business like Atlanta became. I grabbed two of my long time friends and collaborators who have been through similar. I went over to Jersey and picked some beats out from my bro Cardiak and the rest is history!
