Layoffs, restructuring, positions eliminated, whatever we're calling it this week. Then I opened LinkedIn. "Grateful for the journey." "Thankful for the opportunity." "Excited for what's next." For fuck's sake. You just lost your job. No need to write a love letter to the people who handed you your walking papers. Rockets don't explode, they experience "rapid unscheduled disassembly." Companies don't screw up, they identify opportunities for improvement. When did plain language become such a problem? I get not wanting to burn bridges, but must we put a cheerful bow on everything? Apparently... I got irritated enough... to ...write ....Apparently.... apparently :-) I'd write a more positive description, but apparently I've run out of opportunities for improvement.
