The following CD presents recordings of Troparia on the Beatitudes from St. George the Hagiorite’s Octoechos. The melodies of the Troparia (the whole eight tones) are being introduced from the manuscript Q 674 which has been compiled by St. Ekvtime the Confessor (Kereselidze) (the manuscript is preserved in the Korneli Kekelidze National Centre of Manuscripts). The following Troparia are being chanted among the verses of the Beatitudes (Matthew 5:3-12). The Liturgical rule considers the antiphonal performance. The recordings of the chants are performed by Anchiskhati Church Choir (The Leader of the Choir is Malkhaz Erkvanidze). We suppose that the following audio album will assist chanters to restore the antiphonal form of chanting.
