“TO CRY & BOUNCE”, acronymed “2CB”, sees the Afro-fusion luminary explore themes of love, passion and sacrifice using catchy melodies, layered vocals and honeyed beats. On his third solo release, Singer-songwriter Bouff folds Afrobeats, Alté, and contemporary Hip-Hop/RnB textures into a sonically diverse concoction of sensual and groovy rhythms that swelter and yearn throughout. With this being a project born from his heritage, the Toronto-based artist fuses his native Nigerian language Yoruba with Pidgin slang and English lyrics to create a hybrid of Afrofusion and Alté sounds. The six-track EP displays a multi-layered artist who deftly and vulnerably delves into the many facets of love, heartbreak, and times of joy capturing the allure of the young, but seasoned Bouff’s life experiences.
