Big Gov Mattic

Gov Mattic was born in Newark NJ to mother Debra Williams, a sound system DJ (JAH EYES THE ULTRA POWER SOUND) for local parties throughout the city, By 16 Gov began DJing at local nightclubs and perfecting his mixing and turntable talents. At 19, he got his first job as a record producer for fellow NJ native, (Sport D) Diezzle don thus beginning his career in music production He later produced for the jersey collective of RPT that featured Jersey artist Redman & Do It All Of Lords of the underground, in 1993 he formed the group Deizle Don & Tha Govener and Signed to Noo Trybe/Virgin Records,in 1995 they left Noo Trybe/Virgin Records for a deal with Contract/Ruffhouse Records and Released the underground classic Year of the Independants, in 1995 he created The Collective Brick Mob
