Amidst riots in Philadelphia, a national race war and a global pandemic, AnnonXL somehow manages to write a song about losing his virginity. The newly 22-year-old crooner releases his single “baby’s first time” in anticipation of the release of his first full-length album, Stupid Cupid— prospectively dropping this spring. With “baby’s first time”, Annon gives listeners a peek into the album’s evolved engineering and production, met with lyrics that “make him uncomfortable.” “baby’s first time” is a coming-of-age story that depicts young Annon sailing into a world of independence, only to find temporary comfort in the arms of a closeted man.
