HELP MEET
Helper suitable for you
In Genesis, God creates a woman out of a man and calls her a helpmeet. That sounds a lot like a helper. Helpers are what you call people who can’t do as much as you but try to help. When you are helped with a task, the person who renders the help is called your helper.
The word HELP MEET comes from two Hebrew words, ezer and kenegdo.
• Ezer: Often translated as "help," this word implies a strong, rescuing, and protective force rather than a subservient assistant.
• Kenegdo: Translated as "suitable" or "comparable," meaning a counterpart, an equal, or someone who corresponds perfectly as a match.
The exact same Hebrew word (ezer) is used throughout the Old Testament to describe God as our Helper. Being a help mate is a divine and honorable calling
