Barbados is Aanil’s first release. He delves deep into his emotions to create this catchy Afrobeats track. In the song he captures the feeling of longing for the sweet feeling of love. He compares his idealistic lover to the “Pride of Barbados”, a beautiful flower. He goes on to describe a love that is beautiful, sweet and all consuming. According to Aanil, “It goes two ways. On one hand she (his lover) is like the beautiful flower. On the other, I pictured Rihanna while writing if I’m being honest. She’s from Barbados and in a way, she’s the pride of Barbados. The female character in the song has similar features to Rihanna: charismatic and beautiful.”
