I recorded “Higher” in 2023, but listening to it today feels like I somehow saw the future. At the time, I was simply expressing my reality the struggle, the hunger, the pressure, the faith, and the desire to rise above everything trying to hold me down. Now, those same lyrics feel like they describe exactly where I am today. “I’m tryna take it high but them wanna put me down.” That line hits differently now. “Higher” is about ambition, survival, gratitude and refusing to remain in the same place. It’s about waking up, thanking God for another day, and continuing to push even when nobody truly understands what you’re carrying. Sometimes you create something before you understand its meaning. I recorded this song in 2023. Today, it feels like I left a message for myself from the future.
