Born in Germany and raised in Maryland, DJ and radio host Nyla Symone has really great taste. On her debut compilation project Pretty Moody Vol. 1, the self-proclaimed pretty tomboy curates talent such as KOTA The Friend, Jon Vinyl, and more to highlight the rising artists bound to take over hip-hop and R&B.

Summers spent road-tripping from Maryland to her family’s hometown in Florida provided the perfect opportunity for Nyla to consume as much music as her ears would allow. Those years of classic rap-filled car rides, a passion for making mixed CDs, and a move to New York for college culminated in Nyla becoming one of the most in-demand media personalities in hip-hop.
