Francisco Javier Barraza Rodríguez, known artistically as Pancho Barraza, is celebrating 30 years in music. The Mexican Legend began his journey in music as the lead singer for Banda Los Recoditos. Pioneering a more romantic style to the Banda subgenre, Pancho is recognized today as the Poet of Love. He began his solo career in 1995 and since then has experimented with subgenres from mariachi to rancheras and cumbia.

30 years later, the Poet of Love is still experimenting with the sounds while conquering the hearts of his audience. As a gift to fans for his 30-year-long career, he recreated a few of his classics with today’s contemporary acts: “Vuelve Por Favor” alongside Lenin Ramírez, and “Tu Abandono,” with El Fantasma.

“It’s something very beautiful to last three decades and have three generations listening to my music,” Barraza tells Audiomack. “Three decades of failures, triumphs, and victories. Today I feel that I still have a lot to do and a lot to learn. I enjoy every sold out event and also every empty event since it is not easy to be on top all the time and everywhere.

“I feel very fortunate for all the beautiful friendships I have managed to maintain throughout the length of three decades and that is reflected in this anniversary production where I collaborate with various colleagues of this genre. I invite you all to continue to enjoy these songs that come out week after week and thank you to my friends at Audiomack for supporting us in every madness.”

Additionally, Barraza shared some advice for new artists: “Be patient, be yourself, and give your audience the best of you without comparing yourself to anyone else, simply be you with your own style. Learn about the music business and utilize all the tools that technology offers us for the benefit of our career. I wish in my time I had had this opportunity to be close to my audience. Enjoy the journey because it’s not about getting to the finish line but about being relevant for many years.”

Hoy, Pancho es reconocido como El Poeta Del Amor ya que fue pionero en incorporar un estilo más romántico en el subgénero Banda. Comenzó su carrera como solista en 1995 y desde entonces ha experimentado con varios subgéneros desde mariachi, rancheras, a cumbia.

30 años después, El Poeta del Amor todavía está experimentando con los sonidos mientras conquista los corazones de su público. Como regalo a sus fans por sus 30 años de trayectoria, Pancho recreo varios de sus clásicos con los contemporáneos de hoy cómo Vuelve Por Favor junto a Lenin Ramírez, y Tu Abandono con El Fantasma, entre otros.

“Es algo muy bonito permanecer por tres décadas y tener 3 generaciones escuchando mi música,” Barraza le cuenta a Audiomack. “Tres décadas de fracasos, triunfos y victorias hoy por hoy siento que me falta mucho por hacer y mucho por aprender, disfruto cada lleno que tengo y también cada evento vacío ya que no es fácil estar en top todo el tiempo y en todas partes.”

“Me siento agradecido de las lindas amistades que he logrado mantener en lo largo de estas tres décadas y eso se refleja en esta producción de 30 Aniversario donde colaboró con varios colegas del género y no necesariamente artistas grande o en tendencia porque aquí la forma de selección fue por la química que siento y no por el beneficio que obtendría.”

Adicionalmente, Barraza compartió un consejo para los nuevos artistas: “Ser pacientes, ser tú mismo y darle al público lo mejor de ti sin igualarse a nadie simplemente ser tú con tu estilo propio. Aprender del negocio de la música y utilizar todas las herramientas que la tecnología nos proporciona para beneficio de nuestra carrera. Ojalá en mis tiempos hubiera tenido esta oportunidad de estar cerca de mi público, y disfruten el camino que no es llegar sino mantenerse por muchos años.”
