Lil Buck — “Exotic Flow”

Lil Buck is an independent artist with an elastic flow. The Georgia rapper’s previous tapes I’m Still Here and Trap Sh*t with EBE Blaze were rowdy and packed with quotables. Buck’s sights are typically set on the come-up, bad bitches, and stunting on lames. His huffing delivery and range have him sounding like a cartoon villain—one not to fuck with.

“Exotic Flow” doesn’t touch two minutes. Somehow, the spiraling production and Lil Buck’s fiery rapping makes the single feel like its own universe. We get references to Luke Cage, to Buck assuming the role of a dragon—and a big dog—to recalling a life working minimum wage. Where Southern rappers often make bluesy pain music, Lil Buck’s take on melody is more bouncy and intense.

“The song is mainly a song based off vibes and exotic things I like,” Buck shares with Audiomack World. “Also, I’m not a writer. The day I made this song, I was in the studio and I started going through beats, then that beat came on I sat there for a minute trying to figure out how I was going to come… It just hit me. I started rapping in my head, piecing it together then it came out how I wanted it to once I laid it down… The rest is history!”
