Flavour, Fally Ipupa, Diamond Platnumz — “Berna Reloaded”

With a discography dating back to 2005’s N’Abania, Nigeria’s Flavour is coming up on two decades of pioneering the Afrobeats sound. Getting his start as a drummer in church, Flavour first broke with “Nwa Baby,” a single from his 2010 sophomore album Uplifted, which affirmed he was here to stay. His most recent full-length effort, Flavour of Africa, came at the tail end of 2020, and sported features from Congolese singer and producer Fally Ipupa, Nigerian rapper-producer Phyno, and more.

Today, Flavour taps Fally and Tanzanian artist Diamond Platnumz for “Berna Reloaded.” The trio deliver a summer anthem and refresh of the original “Berna,” which Flavour released in 2020 with Fally and Tekno. A true fusion of styles, “Berna Reloaded” summons images of basking in sunny days and letting stress melt away. Rich in percussive textures and vocal layering, the single brings together some of Africa’s finest for a worldwide smash.

“‘Berna Reloaded’ fuses the sounds of West, Central, and East Africa to create a unique African sound just in time for summer!” Flavour tells Audiomack.
