Doechii — “Crazy”

Doechii’s had a monumental 2022 so far. Signing with TDE and partnering with Capitol Records, the rapper has come a long way from 2020’s viral “Yucky Blucky Fruitcake.” Her appearance on Isaiah Rashad’s “Wat U Sed” last year telegraphed big things to come, and March’s “Persuasive” was a nice teaser to the full breadth of her artistry. She’s got an eye for stunning visuals and heavyweight rhymes.

“Crazy,” Doechii’s first single with Capitol, is packed with energy. Doechii steps into a new lane closer to Rico Nasty, but with her own edge. The rowdy breakdown one minute in transforms this single into a barrage of confidence. After the poppier sounds on Oh The Places You’ll Go, it’s exciting to hear Doechii put the pedal to the floor on some fighting music.

“‘Crazy’ is about uncontained power, creativity, and confidence,” Doechii shares with Audiomack World. “People call you crazy when they fear you or they don’t understand you. So when I use it in the song I’m reflecting that energy back on them to show them themselves.”
