Westside Gunn — “Hell on Earth, Pt. 2” feat. Benny The Butcher & Conway The Machine

The curatorial Flygod never stops. Westside Gunn has enjoyed a measure of underground and mainstream darling success unheard of for his Buffalo hometown—taking his Griselda brothers with him every step of the way. Consistently releasing must-hear albums, the classics conversation of the 2010s would be incomplete without at least a nod to Supreme Blientele. In August, Gunn released the eighth installment of his Hitler Wears Hermes series, with Side B releasing September 24. All opulence, all the time.

Hell on Earth, Pt. 2” is the three-headed monster one hopes to find in every Griselda tracklist. It is real-life spontaneous combustion as Benny The Butcher delivers one of the best verses of the year, Conway continues his kingly status, and Sovren delivers on the shattering beat. These four minutes are everything there is to love about the grimey lane Griselda has carved out and furnished with Dior goggles, bricks doing yoga, and Big Pun-level wordplay.

“When I first heard this beat by Sovren I immediately thought of Prodigy, he was a good friend of mine and I wanted to make something that he would be proud of,” Gunn tells Audiomack World. “Mobb Deep being one of the best groups of all time, I wanted to fast forward and give you that vibe with my crew who I feel is one of the best groups of all time as well.”
