Audiomack Ink gives you the inside scoop on YGTUT’s first tattoo, love for Erykah Badu, and his mission to spread positive energy.
We’re back with another episode of Audiomack Ink, the video series where Audiomack takes our favorite artists to Nice Tattoo Shop, to get the lowdown on their current tattoos while getting them some fresh ink.
This time, we’ve got Chattanooga rapper YGTUT, known best for his moving 2015 album, Preacher’s Son. TUT raps with a languid and pensive affect, delivering a pack of leveling vignettes over a bed of bluesy production. Keeping with his penchant for soul, TUT gets an Erykah Badu piece on his arm.
“The reason why I’m getting Erykah Badu,” he explains, “is like, growing up, outside of OutKast… My mom, she would play Erykah Badu.” Inspired by his mom and his own love for Badu, YGTUT decides on a piece based on Badu’s “Honey.”
YGTUT breaks down his first tattoo, done while he and the artist ate “a Philly cheese steak in pita bread,” and one of his movie inspired pieces. Check out the video above for TGTUT’s full tattoo breakdown and to see his brand new Erykah Badu piece.
