Audiomack Ink gives you the inside scoop on Cuban Doll’s most painful tattoos and her first mixtape, ‘Cuban Link.’
Introducing: Audiomack Ink, SXSW edition, a new video series where Audiomack links up with some of our favorite artists to get the lowdown on their current tattoos while getting them some fresh ink.
This episode features the young, Atlanta-based upstart Cuban Doll. “I’m ‘bout to get a little broken heart,” she explains while getting prepped for her new piece. “It’s gon’ be like shattered, and I want each little piece to be like maybe like pink, purple, some cute shit. It remind me of peace.”
Cuban Doll got her first tattoo at twelve years old, a piece on her ankle dedicated to her grandmother. While her most painful tattoos were on her knuckles and one on her foot. “I was damn near crying,” she attests.
Cuban Doll two bar-filled projects under her best, Aaliyah Keef and Cuban Link, and as we see in the video, the follow-up to Cuban Link is on the way. Shot at SXSW in Austin, Texas, Cuban Doll’s fresh broken heart tattoo was done by the prolific Jay Dee Martinez.
