THE BLOSSOM holds multitudes—mostly, a lot of grunge and shoegaze tones. They released 97 BLOSSOM in April, which can best be described as a romp through the zooming mind of an eclectic pop artist. Raised in Sydney, Australia and New York, THE BLOSSOM has created their own musical language, turning young angst and fleeting dreams into an explosion of emotion and surreal color.

SPORTS CAR” is THE BLOSSOM’s latest single and follows “SPIKE COLLAR.” The acoustic, guitar-driven ballad swells with feeling. Production from Mark Lizotte, Zach Fogarty, Romil Hemnani and Anthony Kilhoffer provides a perfect soundbed for the artist to sharpen their songwriting. THE BLOSSOM elevates themselves from someone treading the surface of teen nostalgia to diving into the heart of a collective memory of deleting that toxic person from your life.

“The moment in time when I wrote ‘SPORTS CAR’ I was restless, burning from the inside out and dragging around so much pain and guilt from time and autonomy I felt like I’ve lost,” THE BLOSSOM tells Audiomack World. “Feelings that have been thieved through the sludge of mud and trickery of insecurity. These thoughts get stuck on loop. I was exhausted from the wear and tear of running. I wrote the song with just guitar with my dad remotely over FaceTime and then I took it to Romil Hemnani and Zach Fogarty to build out together. I wanted to build the track in such a way production wise that reflected my overwhelming sense of yearning for escape and redemption from my own emotions. A relief from a huge internal build up.”
