Swizz Beatz Is Pressing Play on Black Businesses With Audiomack

By Cheyenne Watson on

In honor of Black History Month, Audiomack spoke with Swizz Beatz to spotlight his favorite Black-owned businesses and express what Black entrepreneurship means to him.

“Life begins at the end of your comfort zone” is the ethos the Bronx native, born Kasseem Dean, has lived by for both his personal and professional life. From GRAMMY-winning hip-hop producer to prominent entrepreneur, Swizz Beatz has lived a life of calculated chess moves. Whether it’s a partnership with acclaimed sneaker companies such as Reebok or multi-million dollar endorsement deals with Bacardi, Swizz is the definition of a hustler.

Swizz Beatz inspires many entrepreneurs, but he himself is motivated by an array of Black business owners servicing and reinvesting in their communities. Styles P (lifetime friend and CEO of Farmacy For Life and Juices For Life), Alicia Keys (wife and owner of Keys Soulcare), and Adrienne Cooper (founder of Moonlight Roller) are just a few of the Black entrepreneurs that inspire Swizz.

For Audiomack’s Black History Month initiative, Swizz sits down with Billboard Hip-Hop Editor Carl Lamarre to break down the importance of social networking, how he knew it was the perfect time for launching a business during the pandemic, his tips and gems for aspiring entrepreneurs, and more.
