SKIIFALL — “Feds Fraid We”

Saint Vincent-born SKIIFALL blends drill with dancehall to frenetic success. His March single with the UK’s Knucks, “Ting Tun Up,” is equal parts rattling and soothing. The vibrancy of SKIIFALL’s music can be traced back to his varied interests in dancehall, R&B, and reggae, for which he credits his mother.

Feds Fraid We” is the artist’s latest single, and bursts with an extra oomph as the haunting drill stylings mesh with SKIIFALL’s native patois and creeping backing vocals. This one makes us feel like Halloween came early—think chilling and rowdy, but also a touchstone of the Caribbean diaspora.
