Roddy Ricch — “Late At Night”
Roddy Ricch is no stranger to crafting hits. Roddy’s 2019 debut album Please Excuse Me For Being Antisocial and its runaway smash “The Box” cemented him as a bona fide superstar, following breakout singles like “Die Young” and “Every Season.” Last summer, he assisted DaBaby on “ROCKSTAR,” another chart-topping smash. Now a hip-hop household name, the Compton rapper is well on his way to being a voice for the next generation of artists coming out of the West coast.
Roddy’s latest release, the passionate “Late At Night,” sees him once again working with the venerable Mustard, a duo responsible for two other Top 20 smashes: “High Fashion” and “Ballin’,” the latter of which was immortalized in a live performance for Audiomack’s Trap Symphony series.
“Late At Night” splits the difference between somber ballad and stream of bars. As only he can, Roddy Ricch makes love sound like a moonlit visage, with his every last breath dedicated to bringing home an image of romance both tragic and fiery.
