Otis Kane — “Keeps Me Going”

Otis Kane’s measured swagger blends classic and contemporary R&B influences. The Los Angeles-born-and-based artist began falling in love with music, according to his mom, since his toddler days, and took a concerted interest in the craft at age 10. Having toured with Lolene as a keyboard player, and studying under the great producer and songwriter Nelle Hooper, Otis ventured into the world of production and engineering before eventually pivoting to focus on his solo singing career full-time. In 2020, he released Therapy, and 2021 saw the release of Purple BLUE.

Therapy’s “Keeps Me Going” spotlights Otis Kane’s fluid tone. An appealing love song, Otis’ admiration for his lover is second only to the ricochets of percussion and swells of synths, which harken back to the jams you’d hear at cheap skate nights at the roller rink. This is the soundtrack to holding hands with your crush, hoping they don’t notice you’re about to faceplant in front of everyone from the nerves.

“I wrote ‘Keeps Me Going’ with my boy Pink Sweat$,” Otis Kane tells Audiomack. “It’s such a fun song, the music and the vibe is really reflective of the moment we created it. We both like to bring as much love and good energy into the world as we can through our music, and this song does just that.”
