Njomza — “tidal wave” feat. Ari Lennox

Contemporary R&B singer Njomza’s voice has a whimsical quality. Signed by the late Mac Miller to his REMember Music Label what feels like eons ago, the singer has written hits with Ariana Grande, delivered the Vacation EP in 2018, and built a fanbase off her earnest expressions of sad girl energy in both her music and interviews. Born in Germany and raised in the ‘burbs of Chicago, the artist’s latest release, LIMBO is a dedication to the liminal space of a romance on the precipice.

Njomza taps Dreamville’s Ari Lennox for “tidal wave,” LIMBO’s evocative closer. Produced by DJ Toomp during the Dreamville sessions of 2019, the duo’s vocals pair so well together, it’s an ethereal meeting of the minds. Percussion accents provide a pattering soundscape for images of wine-drunk recollection. Wistful and pining, Njomza sounds at her best when her heart is on full display.

“Me and Ari Lennox created this song together at the Dreamville Sessions in Atlanta and I’m so happy it found a home on my EP,” Njomza tells Audiomack. “I hope everyone enjoys it as much as we did creating it.”
