María Isabel — “Love song”

Recently getting the COLORS treatment, María Isabel’s “Love song” captures everything right with contemporary R&B: affecting writing, silky vocals, and unmatched conviction. “Love song” thrives with rich guitar notes and production from Cooper Holzman. The bi-coastal artist who stole our hearts with her Stuck in the Sky debut EP, which re-imagined a series of poems about a long-distance romance, reaffirms her transcendent ability to tackle love from all angles. Born to be a singer, as Isabel told us back in October 2020, love songs are the best songs—even when there’s pain involved.

“‘Love song’ is inspired by the isolation of quarantine,” María Isabel tells Audiomack. “I found I had to show up for myself in ways I hadn’t before and it led to a newfound level of self-love and care that I wanted to express through music.”
