TGUT delivers an all-time banger with “MONEYMAN,” featuring Hoodrich Pablo Juan, G Herbo, and Tee Grizzley.
New York-based producer TGUT is having a killer 2018. Debuting on Valentine’s Day with “Maybe,” producing Audiomack’s London-focused Skyline EP, and touring with Lil Pump are just a few of the major strides he’s made this year. With his every move, TGUT has also been moving music forward. Now linking up with Hoodrich Pablo Juan, G Herbo, and Tee Grizzley, TGUT is continuing his 2018 reign with a grimy and hardbodied single: “MONEYMAN.”
Driven by horrifying keys, “MONEYMAN” is an excellent unfurling of TGUT’s style and penchant for moving a crowd in broad strokes.“I really just wanted something super hard that I could drop while DJing,” TGUT tells Audiomack. “This record is actually crazy to me because it came together over a pretty long period of time. G Herbo recorded his verse over a year and half ago, Pablo about a year ago, and Tee Grizz like six months ago.”
And it certainly sounds like it. “MONEYMAN” is measured and mean, with a gripping delivery from every rapper, giving the track a focused and railing heat. In an era where music is rushed out and half-baked, it’s refreshing to see artists still taking time with their craft to deliver the best possible product. “MONEYMAN” is a testament to patience and letting good ideas slow cook until they’re ready to punch.
