TGUT is back with the bouncy and rambunctious, “Flashback.”
Virginia-born, New York-based producer TGUT is setting himself up for a breakout year in 2018. Following the release of his tepidly romantic debut single, “Maybe,” and “Tell Me,” a collaborative record with Jay Prince, TGUT is back with the bouncy and rambunctious, “Flashback.”
Featuring the Dancehall stylings of Spragga Benz and the melodics of R&B singer Eric Bellinger, “Flashback” is skittering and bright. The uptempo production captures the bubbling energy of spring, teetering between Dancehall-inspired percussion and warm swaths of synth leads. Where Benz punches the energy, Bellinger tempers the mood with a silky vocal, making “Flashback” the perfect cross-genre single.
