It’s about time for the music industry to make its annual pilgrimage to Austin, the fourth-most populated city in the great state of Texas and — for roughly a week in March each year — the Mecca for up-next talent in music, corporate-sponsored clout, and the Bud Light-fueled sacrament of linking and building with industry fam better known via email and DM the other 51 weeks of the year.
If you’re planning on finding yourself in Austin this week, we have a treat for you. Audiomack has partnered with Leaders of the New Cool for a showcase of rising R&B and hip-hop talent that you will not want to miss.
The show takes place Thursday, March 14 at the historic Antone’s Nightclub and will feature performances from Choker, Kari Faux, Thutmose, Yung Baby Tate, Zacari, Alex Mali, Kemba, Melat, Wynne, Dua Saleh, Kevin George, Savannah Ré. Doors open at 9 p.m., SXSW badges and wristbands receive priority entrance, and general admission will be available based on capacity.
Rest assured it’s going to be the best show at SXSW.
For a breakdown of the artists performing, our friends at DJBooth were kind enough to put together a detailed introduction for each of the 12 names. Better yet, we have an official showcase playlist featuring music from all artists involved. Read the piece, listen to the playlist, and get acquainted with some of your new favorite artists.
We’ll see you in Texas.
