Top Chef Gotit has been heralded as one of the “heirs” to the Atlanta throne since the release of Hood Baby in 2018. The young rapper quickly secured co-signs from other Atlanta great Gunna and mentor Young Thug. Along with his brother Lil Keed, Gotit represents the malleable melodic sound of a post-Thug hip-hop world. In Gotit’s hands, syllables melt down and are molded into otherworldly blasts of sound.
Ever boastful, Lil Gotit taps Thug for “Playa Chanel,” an extraterrestrial standout from his most recent album, which was executive produced by Gunna. Over triumphant production from Supah Mario, Gotit breathes blue fire through the rattling percussion like some sort of trap chimera. “Playa Chanel” is preceded by a string of singles for Top Chef Gotit, including “Wok” and “Burnt N Turnt” with NAV. Feel free to go barnacles when you listen.
“Playa Chanel means being playa and fly it’s like you drip, just playa swag,” Gotit tells Audiomack of the track.
