Kodie Shane — “FaceTime” feat. Rick Ross

Atlanta-born, Chicago-raised Kodie Shane has star power embedded into her DNA. Coming from a long lineage of melodic ingenuity, the genre-bending artist’s aptitude for hip-hop-spirited, multicolored R&B has manifested into 2018’s Young HeartThrob and last year’s buoyant Quarantine—a joint EP with fellow ATLien Saucy Longwe.

For “FaceTime,” Kodie taps Rick Ross for four minutes of charismatic, cruising-with-the-top-down music. Engineering lavishly braggadocious vibes, the unorthodox duo work together to craft a rich atmosphere over Matthew Pearson and Denzel Claxton’s swanky production.

“This record is a super feel-good record, it’s that Maybach Music feel with a Kodie Shane spin on it,” Kodie tells Audiomack World. “My hope is that ‘FaceTime’ will move the listener to not only have a good time but also seek more in-person, one-on-one human interactions… the original FaceTime.”
