Joony — “WYA?”
Joony is fighting some Silent Battles. The Silver Springs, Maryland native refuses to be complacent, telling Audiomack World in September that he is constantly searching for ways to grow his sound. A Brent Faiyaz collaboration helped put Joony in the ears of prospective fans, and his intentional writing is what defines him: “Each track on the album is a silent battle in itself.”
On “WYA?” Joony dips into his romantic bag over production from Rascal. The single is a perspective flip of sleeper hit “WHEN I WAS WIT U,” with Joony getting a little more open about missing someone and everything he loved about them—down to their tattoos. It’s a lonesome tune with a gummy melody.
“The song was inspired by the unique lifestyle that people such as my self find themselves in,” Joony tells Audiomack World. “An over indulgence of drugs, travel, sex, money, and everything in between.”
