"This is my unintentional tribute to Robin Williams . Unintentional because I wrote it in 2011, a few days after the original version by Lil Wayne featuring Bruno Mars, was released as a single. I wanted to do a mixtape with some of the hottest tracks out at the time to test my lyrical proficiency. It didn’t work out but I kept the lyrics… until now.
It might seem awkward to acknowledge that I have had bouts with depression and can probably relate to what Robin went through, hiding behind the veil of his incredibly immense comic talent. Ours is a society less tolerant to psycho-emotional (I’m pretty sure I just made this up) needs and so we the ‘weaklings’ are forced to hide our problems or find alternative means to express them.
