#ButtonIt, is a term Barry Quigley of JCA Beats and I thought of out of the blue one day. The base of the word refers to the button man in the hierarchy of a mafia family. The button man is the "hit man," also known as the man who takes out the garbage and "makes people disappear."
When handling one's own business with the cunning preciseness and execution of a button man, I refer to it as "buttoning it." So when we say #button it, it just means "taking care" of business and getting it handled so you can finish the job.
