Soleille is a Hip-Hop/R&B singer, songwriter and lyricist from the DMV (DC, Maryland, Virginia). She grew up in Silver Spring, Maryland, a suburb outside of Washington DC. While she grew up in the United States, her family has roots in both Cameroon + Nigeria. As a result, she works to incorporate elements of both the French language + Black Nöize (sounds of the African Diaspora) into her work. Additionally, she is inspired by celestial symbols which inspires her to release her music upon promising celestial moments (new moons especially). All of these characteristics of Soleille were combined to create her French name which translates into “Sun”.
