Patrick Stack On First Seeing Merlin James at the Douglas Hyde

0:002:30

This ekphrastic poem was inspired by a Merlin James painting exhibited at The Douglas Hyde Gallery, Trinity College, Dublin in 2012. Having some time to kill, the poet dropped into the gallery to see what there was and was immediately entranced by the painting so much so that he spent nearly an hour sitting in front of it. He neglected to note the title of the painting, however, and is still in the dark regarding the same.
