Thanks to his Cash Money connections, British singer Jay Sean snags a coveted Lil Wayne feature on this 2009 single. Producers J-Remy and Bobby Bass concoct a surging dance anthem, and Sean provides an easily repeatable chorus.
The track is about both the Sean’s ability to make her happy when she’s sad, and her loyalty. Is she willing to stick around when things go bad? The music video seems to suggest things will never go bad for Sean, although he’d never again scale these heights.
That’s not surprising, consider the track shot to the top of the US Billboard 100 and made it to number 1 in Australia, Slovakia, and the UK. It charted worldwide, and ended up being certified 6 times platinum in the US. This rendered him “The Most Successful Male UK Urban artist in US chart history.”
