Backpack rap is socially conscious hip-hop. It is not necessarily overtly political, but it discusses social issues and conflicts. Trap music is filled with confrontation and aggression, whether in the lyrical subject matter, the hard, driving beats, the noisy sampling and production, or any combination thereof. The beautiful thing about Hip-Hop is that these contrasting styles can be enjoyed by the same person.
