Born October 26, 1987, Zaie was raised in Boston, Massachusetts, where he found his passion for songwriting. In order to learn the artform of melodies and find his own flow, Zaie would often freestyle before he began to write. Every time he heard a beat he’d break out into a lyrical stanza. These short freestyle sessions were Zaie’s main form of practice. He did this so often that after a while he perfected his craft as a songwriter. Growing up in a single parent home, Zaie found his inspiration in his very own mother. She alone raised him, as well as his friend who passed away back in 2002. He knew that his mother wanted him to become the very best that he could be. Performances at lounges and clubs in the DC market opened him up to new audiences.
