Raised in Atlanta, I held an affinity towards creative expression from a very early age. I was introduced and encouraged to pursue endeavors in theater by my single mother who brought myself and my 1 year old brother to the city in 1978. I became acclimated to the southern lifestyle, having been raised in the north up to the age of 10. The transition produced a major culture shock back in that time where prejudices were still overtly expressed here in the south.
Music and dancing became a natural transition for me as my interests in stage performance began to wane. In 1982 my friends and I formed a crew called the Break Kings as Hip-Hop culture spread its influence across the country and world. And subsequently I became enamored with this then new style of musical expression called Rap.
