Ray Dawn, formerly known as RayDawn The 86th started rapping at the age of 17. Music was just a hobby until he received national notoriety in 2008, placing in the top 5 of the 'Lincoln Spotlight' music competition sponsored by the Ford Motor Company and Chicago Hip-Hop artist Common.
In the summer of 2009 Ray Dawn released his first album ''The Gift of Desperation''. Since then he has been steadily making his name known across music blogs and performing his music locally and nationally. To date he has shared stages with Talib Kweli, Miguel, Jhene Aiko, A$AP Rocky and Mac Miller among others.
