Peta Parka is one of Sacramento's first artists to sign a major label deal, signing with Jive Records as one half of the the group Level 6. Parkas love for music stemmed from his father who was a DJ
and exposed him to the likes of Kurtis Blow, Melle Mel, and The Sugar Hill Gang. A young Parka would appear on his fathers homemade mixtapes, rapping
freestyles as early as the age of 6. As Parka grew older he would hone his skill of MCing battling in numerous rap battles, and recording demos with local producers. Upon graduating from high school Parka would find himself in Hollywood working with Motown greats Holland Dosier Holland. Not long after he would leave college to sign a recording contract with Jive Records.
