Marl-E is a London Dancehall Artist, Producer and Songwriter, who brings his cross cultural influence into the dancehall scene, mixing traditional dancehall with hip-hop, grime, EDM, r&b etc. Drawing his lyrical content from his personal experience.
Marl-E started off his musical career as a school kid by writing poems, having lyrically clashing amongst friends and producing his own beats under the production group called Unrully Production. Marl-E took his production inspiration from Pharrell Williams, Killbeatz aka Danny Douglas, Timberland and his lyrical style from his cousin Unruly Child aka Kirkland Pinnock.
As a young adult, Marl-E founded a production company called Rockas Music Ent where he produces reggae, dancehall, afrobeat, soca, r&b, hip hop, grime, house, trap and EDM music. The aim of the production company is to give artists a platform where they can vocalize and express their feeling on any instrumental without needing to compromising their beliefs and value in order to sell records. As a new upcoming young artist and a Producer with a new sound, it is hard to get music across to the masses where major recording productions dominate the market. Therefore, by producing his own music, Marl-E works with young upcoming musicians with aims of creating a young new hip Motown record label with diversity of different cultures and genres.
Although Marl-E is inspired by artists such as Sizzla, Bob Marley, Beres Hammond, Sanchez and Beanie Man, he keeps an open mind to other beats and genres such as soca, afrobeat, rnb and hip hop as he would like to continue to evolve as an artist. As well as have the opportunity to work with a wide variety of artists and make a significant difference in music in the near future.
Marl-E is determined to become one of the best producer and songwriter of his time rather than being compared to other great Jamaican artists who were great in their time. He is currently studying a Foundation Degree Course in Music and Business at College Westminster, with aims of taking his musical career farther
