The only way to describe MIDIMarc’s style of production is “Soulfully Versatile”. Growing up, his mother, a Detroit Michigan native, and his father who hails from Goldsboro North Carolina exposed a young Marcum to a wide variety of great musicians and composers. Marcum would spend hours going through his parents record collections listening to all the different sounds gaining an appreciation for music at a very early age. By the late 1980s his family had moved to Hopkins, South Carolina and his love for music intensified when his neighborhood exposed him to Hip Hop music. The trend of sampling other genres of music to create Hip Hop beats drew him even closer to the culture and in June 1997 after hearing “Wu-Tang Forever”, Marcum knew that he wanted to make music for the rest of his life.
