Sound Hole is Lars Gruber's solo ukulele-based album. Lars played every note you hear, wrote the music, and engineered the album at his studio, Raw Deal Records. May not sound like it, but Lars guarantees at least one ukulele on each song.
Lars doesn’t play your grandfather’s ukulele. Actually, he plays his mother’s. Lars was raised in a musical family. At a young age, he saw the uke as a way groovy guitar. That status has never changed.
In the early 1980’s, Lars picked up drum sticks. He played (and plays) drums in a variety of L.A. bands. The Butchers, Hungarian Music Lesson, Egomaniacos, and Apache Dancers were/are his primary bands. Lars doesn’t adhere to many rules. It’s part of his punk rock upbringing. Although he plays many styles of music, he gravitates back to hard driving musi
