Heavily entrenched in Hip-Hop culture, where he has been writing, recording, and performing since a young age, Divine delivers a sound reminiscent of Hip-Hop’s “Golden Era” (1986-1989). Drawing inspiration from the likes of Eric B. & Rakim, KRS-One and Kool G Rap, the Brooklyn, Fort Greene native epitomizes the vibe of that generation, both with his lyrics and his persona to match, as well as those with whom he surrounds himself, counting among his associates Hip-Hop legend and icon Rakim and Hip-Hop/Queensbridge legend and pioneer Tragedy Khadafi. Although Divine may have an enviable Hip-Hop resume, including a 2010 nomination for NYC’s Underground Music Awards’ prestigious “Essence of Hip-Hop” award, he remains humble but hungry for more. It'd be wise to stay tuned for what's to come!
