SOUL OVER EGO
Date of birth: April 23, 1993
The first song KALLITECHNIS ever released was Talk Talk Talk via Soundcloud in November of 2016: a soulful boom bap RnB joint reminiscent of the 90s. At the time, it served as a tester for KALLI to see if her music would resonate well with audiences. Thankfully, it did more than just that. It opened up the doors for opportunity.
She re-surfaced onto the scene in January of 2017 with an 8-bar feature on Lou Phelp's KAYTRANADA-produced track, Average. The song premiered on The Fader and was subsequently picked up by many more publications.
Since both songs had been received really well, KALLI channeled the positive feedback into inspiration for her debut EP [wet paint].
How does Xavier Omär want to be remembered? As a risk taker. A classic voice. An artist who blurs musical lines. A fearless dreamer. And with these big goals, the singer-songwriter isn’t wasting any time. His EP with Sango titled Hours Spent Loving You and The Everlasting Wave bringing critical acclaim from fans and the industry.
Xavier Omär takes pride in his songwriting ability and is most excited by the reward of evoking specific feelings in his listeners with his music. He draws inspiration from artists of all genres, in- cluding James Blake, Arcade Fire, and Kanye West.
Xavier Omär grew up moving across the country and as far as Japan, but he claims San Antonio, Texas as home.
MadeinTYO has managed to carve out a spot for himself amongst this new generation of rappers with his mixtapes You Are Forgiven and Thank You, Mr. Tokyo. He called on hit-maker K Swisha to add his bass-heavy production, which is sonically right in line with the street sensibilities of the south but is still more playful and breezy than most of his contemporaries.
